Marathon Day 46, Saturday 30th April - Manchester, Heaton Park

Morning all, and what a grand morning it is!!
Looks a little drunk, don't you think!!

Excitement now 'coz I'm actually going home a day early and that means spending more time with my wonderful Ellie & Benji - Yippee!
As I mentioned yesterday, the RV is fully serviced and  operational and there are no more driving duties until tomorrow when Kevin is covering for me.  It has been decided that both Skodas are needed as support vehicles tomorrow so I'm travelling home via train - maybe not such a bad idea after all!

Some 150 fun runners joined Andy for the first 5k of his 46th Marathon and the Lord Mayor of Manchester kindly officiated and sent them on their way.
Certainly not Billy No Mates today!!

Andy was accompanied the full distance by Martin Reilly (last seen in the Brighton Marathon) who completed his first Ultra Marathon today - well done Martin - sorry I wasn't there to see you cross the line!
Andy, Martin and one other runner just after the 5k mark!

Nilkki kindly chauffeured me to Manchester Picadilly station for my train and apart from minimal delays, the journey home was thankfully uneventful.

Met Ellie and the boys (and Rose) in Hull City centre - much to the delight of Benji who had absolutely no idea that I was coming home.

A celebration meal was planned for the evening along with a few drinkies, of course, and a good time was had by all!!! lol.
AAAhhhhh - Cheers everyone!!

Sheffield tomorrow and The Crucible Theatre -  one of those places that I've always wanted to visit. I am looking forward to it although Ellie has threatened to practice some retail therapy whilst we are there - maybe I should be a little bit worried!! . . . . . . .
